After being awarded a full scholarship to The Academy of live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in Lodnon, Dougal went on to play main roles in two feature films (Draining Lizards and Animals) as well as many short films and music videos, for the likes of Robbie Williams, Placebo and Texas.

His interest developed into production as well as acting, so he took a course in directing for film and video at the Theatre Venture College, where he directed and produced a festival promo and a dance film.

Since then, as well as acting, he was second unit director on the landrover G4 challenge, filming in America, South Africa and Australia. He has directed scenes in other films as well as documentaries and music videos.

He has recently been filming the feature Shining Water in Florida for which he was also an Associate Producer.
