Filming of a feature film inspired by a true story.

Photo caption: Paul Hills is the director of the film, the screenplay of which was written by Jonnie Hurn.

Jonnie Hurn, English actor and screenwriter, plays himself in the film “Do Elephants Pray?” that will be released in England at the end of next year and later in France. It is in the enchanted site of the forest of Brocéliande that the film crew have posed their cameras and microphones to capture the meeting of Callum (Jonnie Hurn) and Malika (Julie Dray), and the existential upheavals that follow them.

Julie Dray, the only French actress in the film, got wind of the casting for the role of Malika whilst she was in Spain. A few days later she attending the audition in England. “I was on the métro in Paris when the director Paul Hills called me to tell me that I had the role.... At first I thought it was a joke!” explained the actress who has shot a number of films for cinema and television and who is also a product of the theatre. She has acted alongside such prestigious actors as Davy Sardou, Véronique Genest, Eva Darlan, Isabelle Ferron, Richard Borhinger, José Garcia, Astrid Veillon, Pierre Arditi, Brigitte Fossey, Roger Hanin, Bruno Wolkowitch.

Julie Dray admits she has never been to Brocéliande before but hopes to come back to discover a little more of the region and its beauty.

Somewhere in the valley of no return around fifteen people bustle around the actors. Suddenly, the voice of Paul Hills, the director, echoes out “Action” ... Silence, it films...
